Safeway is a White Glove First and Final Mile Logistics company located in Indianapolis. We are part of the United / Mayflower Network that has been around for over 100 years. We are currently looking for a full-time 26’ Straight Truck Delivery Driver
As a Safeway 26’ Straight Truck Delivery Driver you will be held accountable for timely and safe delivery of freight to customers. You will be responsible for reviewing orders, loading and unloading trucks, placement on-site, light assembly and providing exceptional customer service to customers/clients.
Delivery Driver Primary responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
Pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspection
Load and Unload freight safely and damage free onto trucks and at delivery location
Complete deliveries as per customers’ expectations
Prepare and maintain accurate transportation documents
Obtain delivery confirmation as per specifications via tablet and/or paperwork
Provide exceptional customer service to our customers
Maintain ongoing communication with route dispatchers
Follow all safety procedures in the performance of job duties
Other duties may be assigned including general warehouse and cleanup duties
Delivery Driver Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum of two (2) years of experience driving a 26’ Straight Truck with air brakes and lift gate
Experience with inside delivery placement, set-up, light assembly, and debris removal
Excellent and prompt attendance
Professional appearance
Ability to lift, push or pull (with a helper) 70-250 pounds
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent customer service skills
Delivery Driver Qualifications Requirements:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Valid Indiana Driver's license with a for hire endorsement
Current DOT physical with valid Medical Certificate
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
Clean MVR
